Shamecca Harris is a creative writer and teaching artist born and raised in Harlem, New York City. She has a BA in English from Georgetown University and an MFA in Creative Writing from The City College of New York where she also teaches English Literature and Composition.
Prior to the MFA, she wrote and edited digital content for publishers including XXL Magazine, ABC News and The Huffington Post and worked as an editorial liaison for various Fortune 500 companies to help develop and execute their content marketing strategies.
In addition to teaching, she currently works as a Consultant at the Baruch College Writing Center and explores independent creative projects in New York City.
